Which styles of engagement rings best express your love?

When you are selecting a ring to propose with it should reflect your love and fit with the tastes of the special woman in your life. It's hard to find a ring that you are certain your bride-to-be will love, and that you will love. There are a few classic wedding jewellery designs out there that have been favourites for centuries; however, the options available can still be more overwhelming than all the free gadgets and promotions offered on the internet combined. Just as you can choose between a laptop, a standard PC, a Mac or an iPhone when you need to do your web browsing, there are also many styles of engagement rings to choose from. The big classics are the solitaire ring and the three stone ring. A solitaire has one stone in the centre and a simple hank which may or may not taper gently where it meets the stone. This is one of the most classic and elegant styles. It is hard to find a woman who is not charmed by the appearance of this design. A three stone ring has a larger centre stone and two smaller stones bordering the sides of the larger one.

This is also quite a popular design, although generally a bit more expensive. Usually diamonds are used in engagement rings; although various coloured stones are becoming popular for engagement jewellery, such as sapphires, rubies and emeralds. Just as you have a plethora of choices when it comes to electronics and gadgets, there are many different shapes a stone can be cut into. These days you can choose to play video games on a PS3, an Xbox, or even a good old fashioned Nintendo if you like. You can also choose from a wide range of stone shapes and sizes. The round brilliant cut is the most standard diamond cut since it loses very little weight in the cutting process and maximises the fire and brilliance of the stone. Other very popular cuts are princess cuts (which are square in shape with a lot of sparkle) and pear shaped cuts.

Some rings are set with a cluster of small diamonds (called melee) to give a brilliant appearance without the big price tag. Conversely, if you want something flashy and pricey you may want to look at an emerald cut (a rectangular shape requiring a very high quality stone to look nice). The final factor to consider with engagement rings is metal type. Hmm, maybe there are more factors to this than free gadgets on the web. Gold can be white or yellow and is a beautiful and durable metal. Platinum looks similar to silver but is much higher quality in terms of durability. It is pricier, but will ensure that your ring lasts a long time. If you are lucky and you put effort into finding the perfect ring maybe your bride-to-be will reward you with new free iPod or a free satellite navigation device. These are the gifts men like, and your effort will most likely be rewarded.
